Undergraduate International Orientation offers incoming undergraduate international students the opportunity to engage with their peers several days prior to the general first-year orientation. During International Orientation, students explore academic conventions at Brown, discuss topics surrounding student life beyond the classroom, familiarize themselves with campus resources, and participate in social events to get to know their fellow classmates. This student-run event will also introduce you to the International Mentorship Program. 

A key element to the Undergraduate International Orientation is a MANDATORY session that is designed to familiarize you with your U.S. immigration requirements and responsibilities, and to introduce you to services and support provided by the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISSS).

The International Graduate Student Orientation is designed to familiarize international graduate students with Brown resources, introduce academic policies, address cultural adjustment and to inform students about their immigration responsibilities and requirements. The Graduate International Student Orientation involves the contributions from various different departments from around the University. This attendance at this event is REQUIRED of all new F-1 and J-1 students.
