Information for International Students and Scholars

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISSS) supports the integration of international students and scholars into the Brown community. We warmly welcome you to Brown's international community of more than 2,700 international students, scholars and their families representing over 100 countries.

Brown University’s academic and administrative offices will be closed for Winter Break after Friday, December 20, 2024. Normal operations will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 8:30am EST. During this time, resources and support are available for students, staff and faculty.

Brown University's international scholar population is made up of approximately 600 scholars. These scholars include visiting professors, visiting researchers, visiting teaching associates, postdoctoral research associates, faculty, and staff.
