Given the most recent campus guidance related to Covid-19 health concerns, we wanted to let you know that OISSS will be working with you remotely beginning Wednesday, March 18 and until further notice.

Please be assured that we will continue to be available to you during this challenging time.

Previously scheduled in-person appointments as well as future ones will be conducted by either phone, zoom or email.

While you are finishing the spring semester remotely, please know that your SEVIS record will remain active, independent of whether or not you are actually in the U.S. during this time. It is however required for you to complete a full course of study.

If you need to pick up your endorsed I-20/DS-2019 please do so asap but no later than 12pm on Tuesday, 3/17.

If you have left the U.S. already or need to leave without your signed I-20/DS-2019, please know that you can leave the U.S. without it, but will need to present a properly endorsed document in order to be allowed back to the U.S. Please email OISSS for mailing instructions.

Students whose immigration documents are expiring in May and who need an extension (e.g. 6th year Ph.D) are requested to follow the instructions on the OISSS website here. 

Students who wish to apply for post-completion OPT and have not done so already, need to be in the U.S. at the time of application.

The immigration attorney seminar ‘Employment and Visa Options for International Students and Scholars’ scheduled for April 6, 2020 has been cancelled until further notice.
